Tour to and from Casablanca

Day 1: Welcome in Casablanca

At the estimated time, welcome by our driver guide at the Casablanca airport. We leave for the economic capital of Morocco to visit its famous mosque of Hassan II and if the weather permits we can visit more interesting places like the Courniche, the Plaza de las Palomas … etc. Hotel accommodation.

Day 2: Casablanca - Rabat - Souk Larbaa - Ouazane - Chefchaouen

After breakfast we will leave for Rabat. Visit to its main monuments: Alcazaba de los Oudaias, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower. Later we will arrive at our destination Chefchaouen or Chaouen as many call it, located in the only intercontinental natural park declared a natural biosphere reserve. It is a village hung on the mountain painted white and blue, populated by wise, kind and respectful people, and that offers the visitor beautiful urban landscapes, beautiful samples of local crafts, and a peace and serenity that today is difficult to find . Day 3: Free Day in Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we will spend a whole day discovering Chaouen or Xauen, a mountain village in the heart of the Rif, highlighted by its Andalusian architecture of whitewashed houses and blue indigo. We will visit the medina to know its historical-cultural heritage, and we will enjoy its light, its streets, its picturesque Uta el Hammam square, the Rass-el Maa waterfall and the colorful shops full of crafts … etc and maybe have a mint tea on the terrace of a cafe, watching people come and go relaxed, or get lost in the medina and talk with their people, their children.

Day 4: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Moulay Idriss - Fez

Breakfast and departure to Fez, the first of the imperial cities that is proud to host one of the oldest universities in the world. On the way we will visit the Roman ruins of Volúbilis, very well preserved. We can also see a panoramic view of Moulay Idriss, the holy city where we will have lunch and in the afternoon we will arrive in Fez to enjoy the sunset while we visit the walls and doors of their medina or having a welcome tea from the terrace, seeing the whole medina. Day 5: Visit of the Medina and the Monuments of Fez

After a rich breakfast in the Riad, we begin our guided tour through the new part of the city of Fez, where we approach the royal palace, Jewish quarter (Mellah), then we will go to a viewpoint where we can observe all the medina from the South Tower and the numerous Mosques. Then we will walk through the medina, declared by UNESCO a World Heritage Site. Its labyrinthine streets structured by guilds of potters, dyers … etc, the bustle of its people transports us to centuries ago. We will notice that it is a medieval city and that time has stopped at the clock “La Magana Bounania” 1,200 years after its construction. A marvel! Riyadh accommodation.

 

Day 6: Fez - Ifrane - Cedros Forest - Midélt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert

Breakfast and heading south to cross the Middle Atlas Mountains to Ifrane, also called “the little Moroccan Switzerland” because of its great resemblance to that country. One of the animals that once inhabited here was the Atlas lion, which is why it has become the symbol of the city and to which a stone statue has been dedicated in the center of it. We will take the opportunity to stop and take some photos. We will cross the famous forests of cedars, we will be able to admire the Great Cedar Gouraud, the largest millenary cedar of the region and also to feed the hundreds of monkeys of Gibraltar that live in the area. Lunch at Midélt and from here the land becomes arid and full of spectacular geological formations and deep green valleys, such as the Ziz Valley. We will begin to see the typical architecture of adobe, palm trees, some distant Kasbahs … we are at the doors of the desert. After Erfoud we arrive at the impressive Merzouga Dunes and after the Hospitality Tea, we will leave the suitcases in the rooms and go up to the first dunes that are next to the hotel to enjoy the beautiful sunset. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel that is located a few meters from the dunes of Erg Chebbi.

 

Day 7: Merzouga - Nomadic Families - Riding on camels and night in Haimas Nómadas

We are already in the desert and today will be a day of Total Desert. After a rich breakfast, we will go around the Erg Chebbi, an expanse of sand desert where the Great Dune of Morocco is located, of more than 250 meters of altitude, we will connect with the route followed by the old Paris-Dakar and with the mountains that border Algeria in the background. Stop in the oasis of Tissardmin where we can find fossil quarries that are still in this region and we will continue route to a nomadic settlement where we will know some of the secrets of their life and customs. Later stop at a panoramic point where we can contemplate the Erg Chebbi as a whole. We will arrive at the village of Khamlia, originally from Mali, where we will relax with a tea while we enjoy a small concert of spiritual music from Gnawa. Return to the hotel to leave in a caravan of camels to enter the heart of the dunes and contemplate an unforgettable sunset. We will arrive with the dromedaries to the camp where we will stay in Haimas “Shops made with dromedary hair” like those used by the nomads of the desert. Dinner and night in Haimas in the heart of the desert under a spectacular blanket of stars.

 

Day 7: Merzouga Desert - Rissani Market - Todra Gorges - Dades Valley

After breakfast a guide will accompany the group to visit Marrakech, the pearl of southern Morocco. You will visit the Palaces of the Bay and El Badi, the Saadian Tombs, the reservoir of Menara and many other hidden treasures. Lunch in one of the best traditional restaurants in Marrakech. Then tour to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and the famous Djemaa el Fna market square, which is well worth a visit, being one of the main attractions of Marrakech, full of life at night with local storytellers, snake charmers and … Delicious roasts.

 

Day 9: Marrakech – Casablanca

While in the desert it is recommended to get up early to walk to the highest dune that is around to enjoy the sunrise and this relaxing landscape that nature offers, we will return in camels to the village of Merzouga. After a delicious breakfast, we have to say goodbye to the desert and go to Rissani where we will visit its market (if we are lucky and it is one of the market days: Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday) we will follow the road to Erfoud where there is also the possibility of visiting the Fossilized marble factory before continuing to the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. 1 hour later we will arrive at one of the strongest points of the High Atlas: The Todra Gorges. The channel of the Todra River has formed a defile of vertical walls of enormous proportions and of great beauty; It is a paradise for climbers and a unique place. Lunch at the site and a half hour walk would be advisable to see and enjoy the Gorges with detail. In the afternoon we will continue to the Dadès Valley, also known for the Valley of Figs, passing by Boumalne Dadés we will stop at the “monkey fingers”. Dinner and night in the Gorges of Dades.

Day 9: Vallé del Dades - Vallé de Rosas - Boutagrar - Palm Grove of Skoura - Ouarzazate

After breakfast, we can enjoy one of the best views of the Dades Valley. We will do it from one of the most strategic places that the mountains offer us. From there we can observe the amount of kasbah that there is and the picturesque of each of them, then continue to a road dotted with various Kasbah of great interest until you reach the Kasbah of Aït Youl where we will make a detour and we will go through clues deeper in the Central High Atlas, discovering spectacular landscapes. We will visit a nomadic family that still lives in caves in the Vallé de Boutagrar where time seems to have stopped. We will see mountains, canyons and valleys as well as the grottos where nomads still live in the mountains. Arrival at the Valley of the Roses to reunite Kelaa M ‘gouna. Lunch in the village and in the afternoon we will go through the palm grove of Skoura, to arrive later at Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

Day 10: Ouarzazate - Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou - High Atlas Mountains - Marrakech

After breakfast, we will spend the morning visiting Ouarzazate: kasbah de Taourirt and film studios. Then departure to the Fortified town of Ait Ben Haddou, where we will visit its famous Kasbah (Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO). In this spectacular setting, films of such renown as Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penelope Cruz or Joya del Nilo have been filmed. Lunch on the site and trip to Marrakech via the highest port of Tizi N’Tichka, we visited the oil cooperative of ARGAN, where we discover the process of realization and they will explain to us the innumerable benefits it has for the human body. Arrival in Marrakech around 6:00 p.m. Free time to discover the famous Jamaa el Fna Square. Accommodation in Riyadh.

Day 11: Free for Marrakech

Breakfast and free day to practice the art of bargaining in the souks or discover the most remote places of the medina at your leisure. Accommodation in Riyadh.

Day 12: Marrakech - Essaouira

We have breakfast and leave Marrakech towards EssaouiRa, formerly known as Mogador, Essaouira has experienced the passage of many peoples, from the Romans to the Portuguese, without forgetting the Arabs and the Berbers. Due to this history, it keeps countless vestiges of these towns, either in the form of monuments or in the customs of its people. Admire its Medina and the Portuguese fortifications of the eighteenth century. Essaouira is known for its artists who work yours, the port, the islands. Accommodation in Riyadh.

Day 13: Essaouira - Safi - El Jadida - Casablanca

Breakfast and departure, on the way to Casablanca the coast and we will enjoy a landscape of beautiful and unspoilt beaches. Until we reach El Jadida village where we will have lunch before continuing to Casablanca. Hotel accommodation.

Day 14: Casablanca - Airport

Breakfast and free morning until the agreed time, transfer to the airport where we say goodbye, finishing our services.
